Africa 2024 ORDINARY GENERAL MEETING: 10 resolutions adopted unanimously

Ln 12 and 13 July 2024, Aide et Action International Afrique held a virtual meeting of its statutory bodies, namely the Board of Directors (BoD) and the Ordinary General Assembly (OGA). Of the 23 members of the General Assembly, 16 were virtually present or represented at the meeting.

The President of the International Board, Mrs Aicha BA/DIALLO, the International Managing Director, Gilles DELECOURT, the Africa Regional Coordinator, Mahfou DIOUF, the Africa Coordination team and the country managers took part in the proceedings. The proceedings were conducted in a virtually convivial atmosphere. The AGM provided an opportunity for the Board of Directors to present its report on its activities for the year ended 31 December 2023. The governors examined the financial and audit reports for the year ended 31 December 2023. Ten resolutions were adopted unanimously by the Board of Directors.

First resolution : Approbation des comptes de l’exercice clos le 31 décembre 2023

L’Assemblée générale, après avoir entendu lecture :

  • The Board of Directors' report on the Association's activities and situation during the financial year ending 31 December 2023, and on the financial statements for said year,
  • The independent auditor's report on the consolidated financial statements for the year ended 31 December 2023 and,
  • After taking into account the opinion of the Statutory Auditors on the said reports,

Approuve les états financiers consolidés d’Aide et Action International Afrique de l’exercice clos le 31 décembre 2023 tels qu’ils ont été présentés, ainsi que les opérations traduites dans lesdits comptes et ces rapports.

Second resolution : Affectation du résultat de l’exercice 2023 

The General Meeting, on the recommendation of the Board of Directors, resolves to appropriate the net profit for the year ended 31 December 2023, which is zero. Following this appropriation, the "Development Fund" account has not changed and will show a positive balance of 884,458 euros at 31 December 2023.

 Third resolution : Discharge to the External Auditor

L’Assemblée générale donne quitus et décharge à l’Auditeur externe des comptes en fonction pendant l’exercice clos le 31 Décembre 2023, de sa mission pour ledit exercice.

 Fourth resolution Resignation of the Administrator and Governor of Madagascar following the election of a new President of the National Forum of Volunteers

L’Assemblée générale prend acte de la démission de l’Administratrice et Gouvernante de Madagascar, Madame Gertrude RAHARIMALALA, par lettre adressée au Président du Conseil d’Administration Afrique le 10 juillet 2024.

L’Assemblée générale lui adresse ses remerciements pour ses contributions au développement de l’Association.

L’Assemblée générale lui donne quitus et la décharge de sa mission.

Fifth resolution : Replacement of a Governor of Madagascar

The General Meeting notes the replacement of Mrs Gertrude Raharimalala by Mr Patrick Martin Nanahary Raveloson as a new member of the General Meeting.

Sixth resolution : Transformation of the association

L’Assemblée générale a apprécié la qualité des informations de l’atelier de planification stratégique tenu au Cambodge en Avril 2024.

L’Assemblée générale a tenu compte de la qualité des débats de la session virtuelle du 13 juillet 2024 entre autres sur la transformation associative, et compte tenu de ce qui précède, elle encourage les gouvernants et les équipes exécutives à accélérer le processus de transformation d’ici la prochaine Assemblée générale.

Seventh resolution Mandate of officers and directors

L’Assemblée générale décide de maintenir les membres du bureau du CA et les administrateurs en place jusqu’à la prochaine Assemblée générale.

Ninth resolution Governance activities in the event of the closure of a WATSAN office in a country

The General Assembly urges governments to reflect on the practicalities of implementing governance initiatives in their countries. It encourages governments to make proposals for activities to :

- maintain educational action at various levels (community, school and university) ;

- look for ways to maintain the thread of dialogue between state and non-state actors and the synergy of actions;

- propose concrete actions to be taken on the ground to improve the educational situation in emergency situations.

On 11 June 2025, Aide et Action/Action Education expressed its gratitude and recognition to the five vocational training centres that welcomed the 10 internally displaced young people for their vocational training as part of the emergency micro-project. The recognition ceremony was presided over by the High Commissioner of the Sissili province, Mr Isaak Tewendé SIA.

Raising awareness of teenage pregnancy in schools 3

As part of the project to support educational initiatives in the Savanes region (PAIE-S), information and awareness-raising tours on early pregnancy in schools were organised from 17 to 19 April 2025 in 9 secondary schools. This was also an opportunity to explain the text of Law No. 2022-20 of 02 December 2022 on the protection of learners against sexual violence in Togo.
