The Enlightened School Resource Centre for Quality Education (EECREQ) project was initiated by Action Education (Aide et Action) in partnership with the French Development Agency (AFD). This 3-year project (January 2020 - December 2022) aimed to demonstrate the impact of the school environment on the quality of education in general and on school performance in particular. Its overall objective was to help improve the quality of formal education and meet the educational needs identified by the beneficiary communities. The aim was to improve the learning and achievement conditions of 18,000 schoolchildren and 1,000 people in 120 communities targeted by the project in Burkina Faso and Benin, and to improve the knowledge and teaching practices of 840 teachers in the 120 schools targeted in the 2 countries.
After three years of implementation, in accordance with the organisation's principles of experimentation, development and deployment, it is necessary to evaluate the experience before any development and deployment. This is the background to the workshop on the final external evaluation of the EECREQ project on 07 March 2023, chaired by the Secretary General of the Ministry of Education, Literacy and the Promotion of National Languages (MENAPLN) in Burkina Faso and attended by participants from Benin and Burkina Faso.
