Violence against women: combating it through education with Aide et Action

1 in 3 women in the world is beaten.
1 in 5 women in the world is raped.

Every day, in every country and in every stratum of society, new cases of violence against women make the headlines. Murders, beatings, rapes, assaults - the examples of cruelty by some against the "weaker sex" are multiplying. And this despite centuries of mobilisation, demands and laws proclaimed to recognise the rights of girls and women.

So if laws are powerless, what can be done to put a stop to this tide? For Aide et Action, education remains one of the major keys to stopping this scourge, to teaching men to listen and respect, and to giving women the keys to their own destiny.

Emergency micro-project in Sissili Action Education's recognition of youth training centres

On 11 June 2025, Aide et Action/Action Education expressed its gratitude and recognition to the five vocational training centres that welcomed the 10 internally displaced young people for their vocational training as part of the emergency micro-project. The recognition ceremony was presided over by the High Commissioner of the Sissili province, Mr Isaak Tewendé SIA.

PAIE-S: 2,227 pupils made aware of early pregnancy and sexual violence

Raising awareness of teenage pregnancy in schools 3

As part of the project to support educational initiatives in the Savanes region (PAIE-S), information and awareness-raising tours on early pregnancy in schools were organised from 17 to 19 April 2025 in 9 secondary schools. This was also an opportunity to explain the text of Law No. 2022-20 of 02 December 2022 on the protection of learners against sexual violence in Togo.
