Passing on a

life insurance

What if your savings opened the door to the future? to children deprived of an education?

By making the personal choice to pass on your life insurance to Action Education, you are giving even more meaning to your savings and opening the doors of education to many underprivileged children around the world. We are at your side to help you bring this generous project to fruition, a project that will leave its mark on your life and change theirs.

What is life insurance?

Life insurance is a savings contract, taken out with an insurance company or bank, that allows you to build up and grow capital in a tax-efficient environment, to be used as you wish.

Why pass it on to Action Education?

Through this gesture, you are expressing your solidarity with the many vulnerable children around the world who are deprived of an education and therefore of the opportunity to choose and build their future.

You are also giving your savings the power to make a lasting difference, by helping us to finance concrete actions to help these children: access to schooling that is essential to their future, access to quality education and reference points. Because for every child, the school of life is first prepared on the school benches.

What's more, the capital transferred to Action Education will be totally exempt from inheritance or transfer tax. The entire proceeds of your life insurance policy will therefore be devoted to the education of children deprived of this fundamental right.

How to transfer a life insurance policy?

Your life insurance policy contains a clause in which you can designate one or more beneficiaries, who will receive your savings outside your estate.

You can designate Action Education as the beneficiary of all or part of these savings at any time, simply by asking your policy administrator to record this choice when you take out your life insurance policy or at a later date.

The important thing is to make sure that you designate the beneficiary(ies) precisely, to avoid any ambiguity. To designate our association, simply write in the beneficiary clause : Action Education, based at 53 boulevard de Charonne, 75011 Paris"..

On your death, your banker or insurer will be obliged to inform us that you have designated́ our association as the beneficiary of the contract. You can, of course, change this clause confidentially at any time.

The assurance of passing on your business in complete confidence

Founded in 1981, Action Education is a registered charity approved by the French Ministry of Education. Our projects are supported by the Agence Française de Développement and the European Union. Each year, our accounts are audited and certified by a statutory auditor, and we publish a full activity report.

Find out the answers to the questions we are most frequently asked about the transfer of a life insurance policy:

Will my life insurance be available to my children quickly?

Yes, because it's not part of your estate. It will very quickly improve the future of the children we help. When the time comes, Action Education will send the supporting documents* to the bank or insurance company that manages your policy, and the funds will be paid out within a few weeks.

* Articles of association, decree of recognition as a public utility, deed of appointment of the Chairman or Treasurer or delegation of authority from the authorised person, identity papers and bank details.

Can I be sure that my life insurance policy will be put to the best possible use?

Yes, total certainty! For over 40 years, Action Education has been ensuring access to quality education for vulnerable and marginalised populations, particularly children, based on the values of solidarity, equity and integrity.

Can I ask for my life insurance to be used for a specific purpose?

The money collected by Action Education is generally pooled and used to finance, as needed, all the projects set up by the association in favour of education.

If you have specific wishes, please contact Audrey Grosjean by e-mail to : [email protected] or by telephone on 01 55 25 40 92.
