Aide et Action's Junior Magazine 2020

LARGE ANGLE

Education in times of crisis

EDITORIAL

For Aide et Action, education must awaken the consciences of the youngest, free them from their prejudices and sensitize them to living together and tolerance. In short, education must lead the younger generations. We have been carrying this idea from 2015 to 2018, with a first Magazine 100% Junior, as part of our project Local and International Solidarity for Development through Education (SOLIDE).

This initiative aimed to develop new educational approaches based on cooperation and the construction of collective knowledge between groups of children and young people from different territories. After a period of reflection that allowed us to rethink the Magazine outside the project, we decided to relaunch this tool. Because children are citizens like any others, with rights and opinions that must be respected, we believe that it is essential to give them a voice.

Produced during the year 2020, this issue was naturally built around the theme of education in times of crisis. Invited to share their feelings and opinions on the COVID-19 pandemic and its impact on their schooling, dozens of students from CE2 to 5e, as well as educational actors, shared their thoughts with us from Benin, Burkina Faso, France, India, Nepal, Romania, Vietnam, Senegal and Togo.

Thank you to all the students from all over the world for participating in this special junior issue!

We wish you a pleasant reading!
