In the 4 project provinces, 12% of children dropped out of school between 2020 and 2021
In 2019, 9% of primary school students were not in school. COVID-19 only worsened the situation, interrupting the learning of about 3.2 million students. In 2021, as school administrations turned to distance remedial learning, a joint needs assessment conducted by the Cambodian government revealed that 30% of students had no access to education at all during the suspension of face-to-face learning.
