Enabling young people and women in Nadejda to mobilise and act collectively
Due to a deteriorating education system, unemployment is particularly high in Bulgaria. Inequality is increasing and many people, such as discriminated ethnic minorities, remain excluded from economic opportunities. In terms of educational quality, the results of the Programme for International Student Assessment (PISA) tests place Bulgaria last in the European Union, highlighting the educational difficulties in the country.
To support this project :
The aim of the project
To give young people (aged 9 to 18) and women in Nadejda the opportunity to mobilise and act collectively on individual and/or collective issues.
Médecins du Monde and Action Education aim to mobilise and empower young people and women living in precarious housing in Nadejda, to enable them to improve their access to rights (health, education, professional integration) and to develop projects around their own difficulties.
What we did together
- A place of entertainment has been opened in Nadezhda;
- Art activities were offered to the children;
- A time of exchange with community mobilisers allowed for the planning of an artistic activity to contribute to the Junior Magazine 2022.
