ACTE Afrique Burkina Faso
It was by chance that Raymonde Compaoré, a third-year medical student, learned of the existence of the Association Pensons aux Autres (APA), a beneficiary of the Action pour et Citoyenneté par et pour les Tous les Enfants par l'Education en Afrique (ACTE Afrique) project implemented by Action Education in partnership with the Agence Française de Développement (AFD). A friend told me about a conference organised by the Association Pensons aux Autres (Let's Think of the Others Association) on the theme of "Education for All Children in Africa". gender-based violence in December 2022. The aim was to raise awareness through conferences on gender-based violence.
For me, gender-based violence is any violent, harmful act exerted on a person by physical and/or psychological force as a result of the inequality maintained between men and women". After attending the first conference, Raymonde decided to follow the series of conferences. She decided to join the association and become an active member. She discovered the activities being implemented, the fruit of a partnership with Action Education as part of the ACTE Afrique project. "It's a beneficial partnership. The members of the association are trained and in turn duplicate the training they receive. The association has a noble objective. We need young people who are aware of and committed to the development of our countries", she explains. Raymonde is a student involved in youth movements, notably the Young Catholic Students (JEC), the Forum of Catholic Students, the Burkinabe Red Cross, Zéro goutte de sang en circulation with the Office National de la Sécurité Routière (ONASER) and the Association des Elèves et Etudiants Ressortissants du Passoré (ASEERP). With the APA Association created in 2019 to promote education and health, she will use her experience to further the objectives of the ACTE Afrique project.
