The Compétences Pour Demain (CPD) programme, in partnership with the Ratoma local youth office, has organised an information day on the training opportunities offered by the Ministry of Technical Education, Vocational Training and Employment. This activity, which is part of the CPD's "employability of young people" initiative, aims to guide young people towards promising careers. Held at the Maison des Jeunes de Kipé on 29 August 2023, the meeting brought together around 200 young people from the 34 neighbourhoods of the Ratoma commune. Officials from the Ministry of Technical Education, Vocational Training and Employment took the opportunity to present the training courses available in Guinea's vocational training centres. They also explained the conditions of access to the various training courses, which are open to young people with a post-primary (secondary school entrance exam), secondary or university education. The meeting also included a practical demonstration of the registration process on the www.parcoursproguinee.org which allows you to apply for the entrance exam to professional schools.
Representatives of the NGO NAZARIO and the European Union's ERAMUS project attended the event and shared their experience of supporting young people and civil society organisations in Guinea. This opens up prospects for partnership between the CPD programme and young people.
The Skills for Tomorrow Programme is being implemented by the Solidarité Laique and Action Education consortium with funding from the Agence Française de Développement (AFD).
