AEA and SIDBI partner to promote micro enterprise

Aide et Action has been selected as a Facilitating Agency for the states of Arunachal Pradesh, Chhattisgarh, Madhya Pradesh and Odisha for the European Union (EU) funded SWITCH Asia Programme project “Promote Bamboo MSME Clusters for Sustainable Development” implemented by the Small Industries Development Bank of India (SIDBI) in partnership with the Foundation for MSME Clusters (FMC), the Commonwealth Educational Media Centre for Asia (CEMCA) and the Copenhagen Business School (CBS).

AEA has been selected as an Agency for the promotion of Micro Enterprises on Bamboo-based units. Through this 3-year project, AEA will expand its operations to Arunachal Pradesh (North East India). The project is designed to help the local community and other stakeholders collaborate for the promotion of green economy, sustainable growth, economic prosperity and poverty reduction along with mitigation of climate change.

In India, Aide et Action is helping migrant families recoup COVID-19 pandemic

The sudden lock down imposed by the Indian government with a view to clamp down the spread of Coronavirus has had a devastating effect on migrant workers in India. With work on construction sites now stopped, these populations are being deprived of their only sources of income, and facing even more stigmatization as they are forbidden to return to their villages of origin. These migrant workers are in a particularly precarious situation. To guarantee their survival, their safety and preserve their dignity Aide et Action has initiated an immediate response and adapted its "usual" activities to address the emergency.
