On the occasion of the birth anniversary of Gijubhai Badheka, celebrated on 15 November, a webinar was organized by the Teachers Resource Group and Aide et Action. Dr. Dhirendra Muni, managing trustee of Dakshinamurthy Bal Vinay Mandir, Bhavnagar, Gujarat graced the occasion as the chief guest. While inaugurating the webinar, Dr Dhirendra highlighted about the Gijubhai Medical College from where he had pursued his medicine course.
Our mentor, Mr. Sharad Chandra Behar, IAS and the editor-in-chief of Palash, shared about Gijubhai and his teachings which are relevant even today. He emphasised that in child-centred education children should enjoy studies as much as they enjoy playing. He also emphasised on abolishing the caste system and need to aim for an equitable society.
Alok Mishra, Nidhi Chaturvedi and Shyam Bihari Sharma shared their experience in the field of NGOs, particularly their work supporting the cause of education for marginalized children.
The webinar was organized by Dr Damodar Jain and Pravin Bhope, Regional Manager – Bhopal, Aide et Action. 70 Academicians and NGO representatives took part in the webinar.
