iLEAD extends helping hand to needy children in Sri Lanka

From the very beginning, iLEAD was always about transforming lives, thereby bringing joy and cheers to those who associated with it. Over the years, the joys have grown exponentially and spread across the communities as well. Recently, the iLEAD programme in Sri Lanka organized a resource mobilization drive to support the educational needs of a group of poor children studying in Iranaikeny Government Tamil Mixed School (Primary) in Kuchchaveli Division in Trincomalee, Sri Lanka. They were successful in mobilization LKR 1,06,000 from businessmen and the general public which was used to donate schools bags, shoes, water bottles, and stationery to the children. The school, which caters mostly to poor children, has seen an increase in dropouts due to lack of educational material.

iLEAD youth receive mentorship from Microsoft India employees

Mentoring Matters - Virtual Youth Volunteering Campaign by Microsoft Philanthropies for 12 hours from 8 am to 8 pm was scheduled on August 12, 2021, during the International Youth Day. The iLEAD trainees who are undergoing skill training at the Microsoft supported iLEAD centres got an opportunity to interact one-on-one with the mentors who motivated them to aim high in life.
