With 195 million undernourished people, India shares a quarter of the global hunger burden. Approximately 47 million or 4 out of 10 children in India are unable to reach their full human potential because of chronic under-nutrition or stunting. Stunting has consequences such as diminished learning capacity, poor school performance, reduced earnings and increased risks of chronic diseases. The impact is multi-generational as malnourished girls and women often give birth to low birth-weight infants.
Having a strong presence at the field and substantial experience of working with the community, we felt there is an immediate need to intervene in certain project areas where the impact of lack of proper food and nutrition was high. To support these affected families an idea was promulgated in Gurgaon by corporates and organizations that shared a common empathetic vision. Many like-minded and kind-hearted individuals too joined hands and stepped forward to positively impact and reach out to provide food and nutritional support to 100000 people in Haryana and named the initiative as “कर्त्तव्य”.

Who Can Support: A grocery kit for a family of 4 persons for one month will cost around 1800/- INR. Any corporate or individual or organization can become part of this humanitarian initiative by donating an amount that will be utilized to provide the food and nutrition support to the families of daily wage workers.
