At a 2016 new school year ceremony, Aide et Action has commended 54 disadvantaged children who have excellent grades from three elementary schools Doan Ket, Vay Nua and Tien Phong A, Da Bac district. The activity belongs to Aide et Action Vietnam’s 3 year project Improving child education quality and the development for ethnic minority children in Hoa Binh province, proudly funded by donors.
In Vietnam, a new school year is greatly anticipated and celebrated by students and teachers alike. This year, at the 2016 new school year ceremony, Aide et Action (AEA) cheerfully awarded 54 disadvantaged children with excellent marks from three elementary schools Doan Ket, Vay Nua and Tien Phong A, Da Bac district with 54 gift sets. Each set included a convenient backpack and 10 notebooks.
Attending the new school year ceremony at Tien Phong A elementary school with AEA were Mr. Dinh Van Dai – Party Committee Secretary of Tien Phong commune and other commune representatives, secretary, and heads of 6 villages in the commune. Receiving awards from heads of local authorities, the children were honored and strongly encouraged for a new school year.
Earlier, at the end of August 2016, AEA Vietnam held a sports festival summarizing 2016 summer activities in Phieu village, Tien Phong commune. 85 children participated and has a successful sports day.
After a month of training, with guidance from the Secretary of The Communist Youth Unionm under AEA’s Da Bac team’s organization, junior athletes enthusiastically competed for prizes. In junior football for males, 35 children, divided into 5 teams and played round robin-tournament with 8 games. The male football first prize was awarded to the Tup village team and the second prizes went to the Dieng village team and the Oi Noi village team.
In the female aerobic competition, 50 children divided into 5 teams, performed beautifully in turns for the judges. The team from the Oi Noi village finally won first prize.
The new school year celebration and the summer sports day for children were meaningful activities held by the AEA project management team in Da Bac, helping children to prepare both physically and mentally for studying. This could not be done without the warm support of the local authorities and the participation of the local people, especially from the children in commune.
