Basic Computer Skills Class

According to the action plan, Basic Computer Skills, which is the last part of the development courses for rural left-behind women, is taught in October. Project Officer LI Mingli followed up the curriculum in Huang Jue Village in Qing Shen County on 16th -17th October.

This course is divided into two parts: (1) Teaching the basic computer knowledge to rural women in their own villages and (2) pursuit of higher education in a professional computer training center in Qing Shen County for those who want to broaden their knowledge and practices in computer operation.

Some of rural women’s families are equipped with computers at home, but most of them are not able to use computers. However, these women show big desire to learn how to operate computer.

Vietnam – Fighting Human Trafficking Through Education

Like in other border areas in the region, human trafficking is a serious problem in Lao Cai, Vietnam, close to the border with China. Between 2012 and 2017, Lao Cai province alone received 661 returned trafficking victims, 127 of them children (source: Lao Cai Department of Labor, Invalids and Social Affairs).
