Action Education is an association for development through education, which for 40 years has been ensuring access to quality education for the most vulnerable and marginalised populations, particularly children, girls and women.

Basing its work on the values of dignity, inclusion and integrity, and on the principles of transparency, accountability and solidarity, and thanks to the support of its sponsors and donors, it currently runs 103 projects in 19 countries in Africa, Asia and Europe - including France - helping more than 1.1 million people.

In recent years, the organisation has undergone major structural changes, both in the management of its operations and in its governance. The foundations for this major transformation have now been laid, and its practical implementation has begun. Against this backdrop of exciting prospects and dynamism, Action Education is recruiting its new International Marketing Manager on a permanent contract.

Missions

Reporting to the International Director of Resource Development and Communications, and working closely with other members of the team and all departments, the International Marketing Manager will manage the consumer marketing division. His/her objective is to develop Action Education's resources from the general public in France and French-speaking Switzerland.

MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES

The International Marketing Manager has the following responsibilities: 

  • Manage the marketing team (4 people) and involve them in strategic thinking;
  • Define the multi-channel marketing strategy for the general public in France and Switzerland, based on the fundraising strategy (print, telemarketing, digital), and oversee its operational implementation to acquire and retain donors:
  • Define collection targets, human, technical, budgetary and financial resources, monitoring and results indicators for each consumer collection channel in France and Switzerland, taking account of their market, in order to define their action plan;
  • Drawing up the annual budget, as well as 3-year projections and budget reviews throughout the year;
  • Monitor the division's financial commitments and expenditure;
  • Managing calls for tender from service providers and the division's budget;
  • Define the segmentation of contacts, as well as the various marketing offers in a way that is consistent with campaigns and highlights, and set up relationship paths to maximise the value of each contact or donor;
  • To improve the association's presence and performance on the digital market, using various levers (SEO, SEA, social ads) and creating innovative campaigns;
  • Manage marketing research, monitor the sector on an ongoing basis and participate in sector fundraising working groups. 
  • Liaising with the other departments in the department (donor relations, donations and major donors, partnerships, communications), ensuring that marketing positioning is consistent with advocacy and communications and participating in the sharing of information and the overall image of the charity via the charity's other divisions (programmes, volunteer movement, finance).

Profile required

  • 5 years' higher education in marketing ;
  • At least 5 years' significant experience in a management position, preferably in an association of comparable size, and in remote management;
  • Experience of fundraising at a practical and strategic level, with a robust understanding of how to acquire, retain and develop a network of donors;
  • A strong interest in digital communication and a general knowledge of the various aspects of digital (web, SEO, digital marketing, etc.);
  • Mastery of the various direct marketing techniques applied to the fundraising, particularly in digital marketing;
  • Knowledge of sponsorship is a plus;
  • Project management (planning, budgeting, etc.) and cross-functional project management skills;
  • Excellent writing skills are essential, as are good organisational and prioritisation skills, rigour and autonomy;
  • Good interpersonal skills, ability to work in a cross-functional team ; 
  • Ability to unite ;
  • Energy, enthusiasm, a taste for challenge and a strong capacity for work;
  • Fluent English for working in an international network, sensitivity to intercultural issues ;

Conditions

ADHERENCE TO PRACTICAL ASPECTS

  • Position to start at the beginning of June 2024,
  • Executive status. OPEN-ENDED CONTRACT. Position based at Action Education headquarters in Paris (11).ème),
  • Possibility of teleworking up to 2 days a week, 23 days RTT/year,
  • Mutual insurance paid for by the employer at 75%, €10/day luncheon vouchers paid for at 60%,
  • Remuneration from 48K Euros gross per annum, depending on profile,
  • Occasional travel in France and abroad,
  • Position open to people with disabilities.
