The theme of International Women's Rights Day 2023 is "For an inclusive digital world: innovation and technologies for gender equality". This is an opportunity to highlight some of Action Education's projects using digital technology in the field of gender equality and the empowerment of women and girls.

Menstruation is still a taboo subject in Beninese schools. Thus, the arrival of the first period for a girl very often leads to a drop in school attendance. Action Education has been fighting for several years for adequate education on menstruation in this West African country. A webinar was organised on Tuesday 22 November on this issue.

Emergency aid in Madagascar for isolated mothers of the Sandratra project
Following the recent climatic events that devastated the East coast of Madagascar and some districts of the capital, Aide et Action launched an emergency aid to contribute to the material and food security of young mothers and their children affected by the Sandratra project.
Raising environmental awareness in schools in Madagascar
For the second consecutive year, Aide et Action volunteers in Madagascar organized an awareness campaign on the importance of the environment. A reforestation operation with students was carried out in partnership with several schools.
Madagascar: young single mothers affected
The recent cyclones that hit the island caused flooding affecting homes and crops. They affected the main areas where the beneficiaries of our Sandratra project live, thus aggravating the already precarious situation of many single mothers. Hence Aide et Action's decision to launch an emergency fund to contribute to the material and food security of these young mothers and their children in Madagascar.
Young mothers: hope regained through our training
On the occasion of the International Women's Rights Day (8 March), Aide et Action is giving a voice to three young mothers who have dropped out of school. In Madagascar, they talk about the socio-professional training they are following with Aide et Action. This is a unique opportunity for them to turn the page, to find a job and to integrate into a society that, for the time being, rejects them because of their early pregnancy.
Aide et Action supports schoolchildren in Madagascar with the distribution of a school kit
Due to the lack of means of families, many children in Madagascar are victims of school dropouts. In order to support them and enable them to access education, Aide et Action and its local partner SODIM have collected and distributed more than 5,000 school supplies to primary school children.

Aide et Action supports young single mothers in Madagascar
Through a training and socio-professional integration project, Aide et Action supports young single mothers in the disadvantaged urban areas of Antananarivo, Madagascar. In three years, 900 girl-mothers aged between 15 and 29 should acquire the skills necessary for their development.
