Madagascar: young single mothers affected

The recent cyclones that hit the island caused flooding affecting homes and crops. They affected the main areas where the beneficiaries of our Sandratra project live, thus aggravating the already precarious situation of many single mothers. Hence Aide et Action's decision to launch an emergency fund to contribute to the material and food security of these young mothers and their children in Madagascar.

Young mothers: hope regained through our training

On the occasion of the International Women's Rights Day (8 March), Aide et Action is giving a voice to three young mothers who have dropped out of school. In Madagascar, they talk about the socio-professional training they are following with Aide et Action. This is a unique opportunity for them to turn the page, to find a job and to integrate into a society that, for the time being, rejects them because of their early pregnancy.

Aide et Action supports young single mothers in Madagascar

Through a training and socio-professional integration project, Aide et Action supports young single mothers in the disadvantaged urban areas of Antananarivo, Madagascar. In three years, 900 girl-mothers aged between 15 and 29 should acquire the skills necessary for their development.

In Africa, Aide et Action works alongside political and health authorities

In Africa, all Aide et Action's countries of intervention are affected by the COVID-19 pandemic, to varying degrees. In the face of this health crisis, non-state actors have committed themselves alongside political and health authorities. Aide et Action is playing its role by focusing its intervention on three areas: educational continuity, information and awareness raising and prevention materials.
