In Vietnam, our emergency response to COVID-19 reassures villagers

To help the most vulnerable and marginalised people cope with the Coronavirus crisis, our Vietnamese teams have put in place an emergency response via hygiene awareness activities and distribution of health kits in remote villages. The communities are thus reassured and above all relieved to see that they are not abandoned.

This activity set up by Aide et Action is really necessary at the moment because the pandemic situation is getting worse and closer to our villagesays Trieu Van Dau, 39, Chief of Bai village. The distribution helps to raise awareness among children and community members and encourages them to be more proactive in implementing prevention measures such as hand washing, wearing masks when going out, etc. A simple soap is cheap, but it is important. Not only does it help children protect themselves from disease, but its use also improves their good hygiene practices.
Moreover, to prevent the spread of the disease, it is necessary to strengthen communication on the health situation through different channels and methods. This is what Aide et Action is doing by distributing leaflets, posting information boards in public places and broadcasting instructions through loudspeakers. "

Because of the Corona virus, children all over the country have to stay at home, says Ban Thi Tra My, a fourth grader at Bai Satellite Primary School. We don't know when we can go back to school. During this time of confinement at home, I help my parents and try to do my homework given by my teacher at a distance. But it's quite sad that we can't go to school. To help prevent the virus, I follow the recommendations of Aide et Action and I regularly wash my hands with soap to protect myself. "
